stDYM is a liquid staking token (LST) designed for DYM, the native cryptocurrency of the Dymension network. It allows users to stake their DYM while maintaining liquidity, offering flexibility that traditional staking might not provide.
Liquid staking enables users to stake their assets to support a network's security and operations, similar to traditional staking. However, in return for their staked assets, users receive a liquid staking token (LST). This LST can then be used in various decentralized finance (DeFi) applications, such as lending, borrowing, or providing liquidity, while the original assets remain staked.
Dymension is a modular blockchain network that focuses on "RollApps," which are application-specific rollups. DYM is its native token, used for network fees, governance, and staking to secure the network. stDYM integrates with this ecosystem by offering a liquid staking solution for DYM holders.
